No need to get excited. I was interested in why you think Spags would be a great hire?

The NFL is a "what have you done for me lately" league, example being the Polians in Indy. I don't think Spags has done anything in the last 3 years to warrant a hire from the Vikes. No Defensive talent on the Rams and he had a below average defense. The Vikes have no talent on Defense, what is he going to do?

When Spags coached the Giants they had talent, a lot easier to work with that DEF vs the talent the Vikes have or Rams have.

The Polians are out because of what they're stance on the future of Manning was going to be.

I have to say, this is one of the most hillarious forums I have ever read. For all of you homers that think we have maybe done an ok job drafting and grooming players, managing coaches, etc pass me the crack-laced kool aid. This franchise is one of the biggest jokes in the NFL. They need to clean house from top to bottom. We are notorious for trying to buy wins by bringing in players that are past, or well past their prime and trying to compete against franchises that have a clue. In return we give up our draft picks and prospects and get stuck paying huge contracts to a few egotistical dinks and are unable to get those much needed second tier players.

All of the best frachises in the league realize that you dont build a team through free agency. Pitt, GB, NE. They dont give up any of there draft picks. Insted, they dump useless cancers like Randy Moss on us for our draft picks and laugh the whole way about it. Spielman, and all the other office personel should be fired. Instead in the land of mediocrity we promote him.

And to say we draft well. Definite F. Here are some problems that I see with our recent picks.

1. Ponder would have been there in the second round. If not, Mallet was just as good and would have been there

2. Tavaris. Enough said.

3. Troy Williamson. Enough said

4. Tubby Gerdung is not NFL material.

5. Erasmus James, Kenichi Udeze, Chris Cook

6. The complete and utter lack of picks because we traded them all away.

I agree 100%. Why promote Spielman to GM, we have all seen the type of players he brings in. The Vikes future looks bleak.
