Help with Marcum LX3

dfv87

Question

My Marcum LX3 is acting weird... It runs fine for about 5-10 mins then it goes blank... still spinning but ducer stops clicking and and no lights... my battery is old but I think is still good as it still spins like it is running. I was going to replace the battery but if this is another issue I would be $25 closer to a new flasher... Live in Becker and work in Blaine, any place to get it looked at near there? Or ideas?

It sounds like a battery issue to me. If it isn't getting enough power the motor may hog all of it and prevent the other electronics from working. Bring the battery into a place like Battery's Plus and have them test it to be sure.

I usually replace mine every 2 years because those batteries just don't last. And I'd rather be safe than sorry if I'm up north somewhere and my battery cr@ps out on me. I then move the 2 year old battery to my portable to power my LED's, and retire the old one.

i had a similar issue with my lx3 last year, it would spin and just show the top red bar, but no bottom; sent it to marcum and they sent it right back fixed, no charge. i tried a new battery, that didnt help. since your in blane, you could probably drop it off at their building in minneapolis...

oh, and dont tell your vexilar buddies...
