Steep shoreline break or 20' midlake rock pile

There are a lot of variables to factor in, but I would normally go for the shoreline break this time of year. I would check out the mid lake structure later in the winter as the baitfish move out into the basins.

It depeneds on how pressured that shoreline break is. That seems to be everyone go-to first ice spot!

This too! If there is any pressure I will quickly overlook this spot or head further down the shoreline. One thing to look for on this break is an inside turn, even a very slight one if the shoreline/break is fairly straight.

Icefisker: You mentioned that you were looking for ideas for yesterday. Well did you make it out? What structure did you decide on?

break line now and rock pile adjacent to deep later!! if the rock pile is the same depth as the break, check both. breakline will give you a better read on fish, depending on clarity, drill holes at the base of drop off, mid way, then up top of the break. you would be suprised at how many trophy eyes come off the shallow side(sometime as sahllow as 5ft!)snow cover also plays a role!! keep this in mind!
