Greetings from the Galaxy Nexus! grin All I gotta say is this thing is SWEET! Super fast, extremely crisp and smooth scrolling, and whats best is Navionics runs awesome on it! Now back to playing and figuring everything out. smile I'll report back.

Let me know how this face unlock feature works. I am curious if this is a good feature or simply a novelty at this point. Sounds like a neat idea.

The facial recognition is pretty cool. It obviously isn't as safe as a password or swipe code, since someone similar looking to you can break it, but it is a neat feature. It's very easy to unlock, just hit the power button and in less than a second, if the phone is oriented properly, the phone unlocks and goes right back to where you last were. A couple times I didn't even realize it happened. They did take a good step and give you the option of password, pin, or swipe code if the phone is unable to recognize you, such as in a dark room. I'm unsure at the moment if I will keep it running or not but will try it for a few weeks to test it out.

Yes the screen is absolutely huge, but the phone doesn't seem big. It fits in my hand just right, and the thickness is about 1/3 thinner than my old Droid2 and feels about 1/2 the weight also.

The thing that sold me even more on this phone is the location of the micro-usb charger plug...ON THE BOTTOM near the microphone! My last few phones the plug was on the left side and in the worst place if you are running low on juice and still need to talk on the phone.

Still kinda disappointed this phone doesn't have a place to plug in a micro-sd card, but I think the 32GB of storage will more than make up for it, and the issue of some apps having problems with the save-to-sd function will now be gone.

Gotta go back to playing!! grin

Well I've found a few minor bugs that will need to be worked out in the coming updates but so far so good.

One of the bugs prevents the auto-spell/punctuation from working about 90% of the time, so that makes typing a pain. I've tried 4 different keyboard apps and they all do the same thing so it's obviously internal. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

There are a few things about navigating around in the web browser I don't necessarily care for. One is if you double tap the screen to zoom, it zooms but also scrolls all the way to the left, it doesn't center itself where you double tapped. Also the bookmarks are kinda hidden and not easily accessible. You have to go through a couple menus to find them.

I'm also not much of a fan with with how the menu/options button is always found in different locations depending on where you are. Its small, jumps around, and is hard to find sometimes. It should always be on the soft key bar if available, but isn't, and if it is it's small. I do like how the soft keys disappear when you don't need them making the screen that much bigger.

The external speaker could have been considerably louder, the ringer is difficult to hear sometimes. hopefully they do what my Motorolla did and have a speaker boost option implemented.

I was expecting there to be bugs, and none of these seriously prevent you from using anything, just kinda hampers your experience a bit.

I got one yesterday and have been very happy with it. I don't have much to compare it to but it does everything I tried great. It is night and day difference than a BB Storm2. That thing is a pile. Navionics loaded up great and works slick. The only thing I don't like is I'll now be one of those people that is always dinking around on his phone. eek

Per DTro's request...

I just dicovered this myself, but the Galaxy Nexus is the first Android phone that I know of to enable screen capture without the need for rooting.

To capture a shot, press and hold the Volume DOWN and Power button at the same time for a few seconds, AND I MEAN AT THE SAME TIME. It's kinda buggy at the moment and it doesn't always work the first try since it requires the two buttons to be depressed at the very same time. If the buttons aren't hit properly you will either shut off the screen or turn the volume down. But once I got the hang of it it got easier. It sounds like there is a second update to 4.03 to be pushed soon so hopefully many of these minor bugs get fixed.

Thanks but dang, I thought it was an Android trick. Oh well
