Huey
What is meant by "on the ice"? I was reading the regs yesterday and it said that if you catch a fish by angling, while spearing, that is must be immediately released or placed on the ice. Literally on the ice? Outside the darkhouse on the lake ice? If you want keep some panfish, would it be legal to put them in a bucket of ice/slush inside of your spearhouse? shamalex72
I think what they mean is you have to reel it in and release it or throw it in a bucket(on the ice) right away. Not to have one hooked and reel it in super slow, or not at all. It would be like you are trying to use game fish as a decoy.

mmeyer
I'm just going to start spearing this year and read this in the regs as well. I was reading it as you can't keep it alive to possibly release later. Could this be correct? Strange wording either way. Maybe I'll call the CO.Just wondering
