looking back at 2011 and 10 for that matter especially in metro Im guessing that when you pass a muskie boat 'our experience" is that about 70% of the time you see a guy in the front with a double 10 and guy in back with a bulldawg in the june through sept window,,,finding this?????????

I see a lot of big blades being thrown, not a lot of dawgs. Although fishing in Wisconsin I really don't see a ton of other muskie boats out. It was October before I had a "looks like someone's already working the spot" moment

Unless people are within spitting distance I never look to see what they are using or doing, I just don't care really, after 23 years of doing this I do what I do and what others do is their theory based on their experiences. For us it's a topwater in front and me with the smallest bucktail I got. I like how at times I think the topwater can pull them up out of hiding and my little bucktail gets blasted. Works out pretty ok, we do ok every summer. Video's show lots of dawgs and lots of 10's so they definitely get tossed a ton.

I would think that ratio would hold on waters like mille lacs and vermillion. Personally I like topwater and glide baits more, but I know I'm in the minority.

Muskybuck: you don't even have to look. You can hear the cling of the blades if they are throwing cowgirls and a mag dawg makes a heck of a splashdown.

lol Nick indeed, yes I hear so much clanking and monster splashes lol, true that . I'm not anti-social out there either if someone asks or whatever we visit, if we cross paths we visit, etc. I'm a seasoned veteran and hot lure, hot lake, hot out, hot everything lol, after 23 years I'm in no hurry. 1 thing I do like to do is crank big blades some early in the year just to get all of my kinks out and muscle up a touch, if a fish shows great. No doubt Nick sometimes it is clank clank clank clank clank so I know throw anything but. 1 big blade guy was so happy I was talking to, bought a whatever 30 $ double, we see him shortly after sitting down etc. and as we came by I said are you alright there, how's the dredging of that bait going, lost it on cast #1 for the day, snapped leader lol, he was disgruntled to say the least lol.

For some reason I feel like I saw a fair amount of Medusa baits being used...I'd hear the clinging of the big blades coming from a near boat and I'd look over to see a big Medusa with blades on it ha
