Buddy Heaters

Whopper Stopper

Recommended Posts

I have had the Portable Buddy for 3 seasons, this will be the fourth coming up. For my 1 man portable, I run it on the low heat once the house warms up. For my 4 x 6 I run it on high. If I ever get a larger house, I would buy the Big Buddy. What I really like is that there is no smell. I was in a friends house with a sunflower. We kept the door propped open and still that thing was awful!!

I run mine on a 20# bottle and bought the inline filter. I have replaced the filter just once, at the beginning of last season; not necessarily because it needed it, but just because. Toward the end of last season I had some trouble with the pilot going out one day. I e-mailed customer service and got a reply the next day with cleaning instructions that took care of the problem. I was impressed with their response time and I really like the heater I have.

I have a 4 year old buddy that has performed flawless using only 1 pound tanks. I bought a big buddy beginning of last season and it performed flawless all season as well. I just bought the 5 foot hose and filter to run on a big tank once the ice is thick enough to drive. I even ran into my regular buddy with my truck last year and smashed the grill all to heck and it still works fine.
