fishinalot
Where can a guy find the real homemade type smoked sausage. I mean the real wood smoked, not the liquid [PoorWordUsage] that all grocerie stores and most meat markets are using today.Any good ma and pa shops you know of that still have the old wood smokers? I'm west of the metro, but always willing to drive for the good stuff!

fishinalot
Hey catfishkid, Where in Delano is Readers? Sounds like a good place to try out.
catfishkid
They are located at river st and bridge ave. Just south of the bridge. Bud may even show you the smoke house if you ask him. It is spelled Rieder's, sorry about the spelling. 763-072-2261

old goose hunter
I will second the motion for Reider's in Delano, family owned for over 100 years. Great summer sausage, & they also make a polish style sausage they call country sausage that is the best I have ever eaten. Very nice people as well! fishinalot
I made a stop in there yesterday, what a great MA PA shop. I bought a little of everything and have to agree, that is the best summer sausage I've had in a long, long time! They don't seem to have much to choose from, but what they do have seems very good. I was talking to the gal that was serving me and she said they have been in business for a 100 years!I bought some bacon, smoked sausage links, fresh pork sausage, ( potato sausage, I did try, but wasn't to fond of) and the summer sausage. I can't wait to try everything out. I do know they have Great summer sausage, thanks for the tip!
delcecchi
Might also check out Greggs Meats, on 52 south of twin cities, in middle of nowhere. They have a lot of awards and are on my list to check out.
