Help with Cuddyback Attack IR

I have a few questions regarding the Cuddyback Attack IR trail camera. When you use a SD card with it why do you have to push the "A" button to transfer the images to the card? also if the batteries go dead before you can transfer the images do you loose them? Why would the camrea store them internally and not on the card when the picture is taken?

How long do the batteries last?

Ok I got the SD card thing figured out, but How bright does it have to be to take color photos and not IR ones? It only takes IR in the house with all of the lights on.

Wrong camera. The new one I have has been running on the same set of batterys since june or whenever I got it still at 90 %. I haven't used it without a card so best read the book. Good luck.
