Last years mixed gas?

I still have some mixed gas in my gas can from last year for my auger, I used non oxy so would it be fine to use it up this year or what should I do with this gas? I was also wondering what the benefit of mixing the Ammsoil 100-1 instead of the 40 or 50 to 1 ratio? I mixed it at 45/1 last year and that seemed fine to me. This is a Strikemaster Solo engine if it makes a difference.

A slightly different perspective here....I have been running non oxy gas in ice augers, earth auger, outboards, chainsaws, atv, snowmobile, mower, blower, generator, etc, etc, etc. for about 10 years now. I used to drain and start fresh each year or season, but since starting to add a small dose Seafoam to my gas, I have found that I do not have to do this anymore. Everything has been starting up and running trouble free and better than ever. Maybe luck, but I don't think so after almost of decade of trouble free small engine use. Before switching to non oxy and Seafoam I went though some frustration and a few rebuilt carburetors and fuel lines 10-20 years ago. Of course if you feel like draining and starting fresh - that will work as well - unless over time there is an issue of dryness affecting carb gaskets, lines etc. I am not a small engine expert -other than my own experiences with them over the last 35 + years or so.

Regarding 2 strokes, I have using Stihl oil in everything and mix at about 40:1 for all power equipment.
