Try doing a searchfor the word "Racor", and the results will bring up a bunch of threads that are related to garage ceiling storage and different methods of raising and lowering. The problem with a RacorPro Heavylift is that it attaches to the rafters, limiting you from going up into the rafters. It will get you 90% of the way there, though.

One concern whenever I see this - make sure that the rafters aren't overloaded. You can have incredible problems if you booger them up. Consider all the stuff you may have up top, sheet rock or plywood for a ceiling/floor. An older garage may only have 2x4 construction - just be sure that what you're doing is OK.

Well guys I wish I could afford the racor product just isnt in the budget. I went to the local hardware store and got a pulley made a platform for the fish house andits only going up in one spot (center of the garage it has a gable roof) My question is how can I even it out a bit so it lifts straight seems like it will work just need to modify it. I can try to take some pictures tonight and post some pictures tomorrow.
