Our land is connected to public land, and it can only be accessed by us another deer camp, a perment house and a farmer. Last monday decided to take a portable out there and set up. A couple hours later seen too guys walking with bird vests on and a dog. "Assumed" they were grouse hunting. Called to have someone come out and pick me up on a wheeler, (legal time to use a wheeler on public land) There is only one trail on the land and the person coming out to pick me up never seen the "grouse hunters". A few minutes later we heard to rifle shots. What I am thinking they did was send the dog through the thick stuff and posted a guy at the other end in a stand waiting for the deer. Knowing this is not legal, but also afraid of what they can do back to us, our cabin, land ect, didn't call it in. It really sucks when you do everything legal and you have someone else screw it up for you and your hunting group. Just wondering what others think on this.

It was public land, and I know that without proof there is nothing that can be done. Unless a CO catches them in the act, they will get away with it. It's just that I'm certain they are all in the same hunting group and it seems kinda strange to have a dog and bird hunters out there while it's the first two days of deer season.... But your right I cannot be certain unless I myself also seen it happen.
