Everyone be careful out hunting as this is a dangerous time in the woods. Many hunters and some don't see things the same and shoot at anything. Deer stand steps break, foot slips, wrong step, falling out of tree, etc. It's very easy to get hurt out there when we only do it once a year. Dragging deer, hoisting deer into truck and trees, lifting things we normally don't and pulling muscles and backs. Cuts from knifes, axes. ATV accidents from going up hills, logs, ditches. The drive to deer camp on the crowded highways, trailer wheels fall off, flat tires on trailers, etc. So everyone watch out for each other and BE SAFE !!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK

thanks for posting this thread. it's a great reminder for all of us. one thing important to me. some of us like our beer's and a cocktail during this time. please save it for the evening gathering around the campfire. this is a special time for us all. let's keep it safe. good luck.

I will add this. If you are hunting public land, please talk to the other hunters in the area if you can, better to be safe and know where each other is than to be worried about someone taking your hang on stand. I encountered another hunter in the woods the other day while putting up my steps and it was like pulling teeth to even get his name! He never did tell me where he was going to put his stand, and all I wanted was to ensure safety. Not only the safety regarding the firearms, how about just knowing where to look for someone if come dark they aren't out of the woods? What if he falls out of his stand and his need for secrecy delays medical attention?

Better SAFE than SORRY people! Share information! You may even make a new friend.
