After the shot

Eight years ago it was opening day, took my new girlfriend with which is my wife now. She shot a 8 in the morning and that evening i shot a nice 9 we waited cause we still had alot of time left and i had a doe tag. I had a doe come out and when i shot she jumped about 8ft in the air ran in a half circle and stood there, i put another round in her and she went down. The funny thing was we watched for a good 45 minutes laying there, as we decided to take of my buck first and it was probably 45 minutes later my dad and brother showed up so we went to retrieve the doe. NO deer to be found, now this was in a hay field, no blood and 4 of us scanned the area and even in the woods. to this day i cant figure it out, even went out there in the morning and still seen no blood. good thing my wife was with cause nobody would of believed it.

shot a decent 8 50yds down a shooting lane. ran straight towards me, under the stand, jumped over a log and died in mid-air. it landed head-first and did a complete flip. that was pretty cool!

Was hunting southeastern Minnesota a few years back and shot a buck. He walked away from me like nothing happened, thought I missed, then bout 40 ft laterdive he fell over and took a 200 ft dive off a cliff into the river below. I walked to the edge of the cliff and there he was floating in the river. Was not fun to have to walk around and fetch him out

Too funny. About 4-5 years ago, one of my buddies shot a deer with his bow. The thing jumped into Lake Michigan and swam out about 100 yards. Everyone in the hunting party made him strip down and go get it. Chilly to say the least. Needless to say, he made a B-line back to the cabin after that swim was done.

Shot a 6 ptr about 10 years ago, was in the middle of the gut job and had 4 does and a huge 10 ptr walk right under my stand about 40 yards from where I was standing over my buck...my rifle stood against a tree about 10 yards away from me...needless to say, I didn't get to fill a party tag. To this day I think it was a dream.....
