Chimney flashing

Is there any logical reason not to replace the flashing around a brick chimney when doing a new roof? My roofer told me it looked fine. Don't know if he's cutting corners, or has a good reason to leave it alone.

If it's Kerfed into the brick you will do more harm than good trying to replace it.

If the flashing is in good shape then you can reuse it. Good shape meaning that it'll last the life of the new roof and it wasn't pulled out of the motor. If you see roof cement at the motor joints it should be redone.
