when I looked at their HSOforum it showed that there was 4 seats left for it. they are charging $149 per person. there are other local places to learn rod building from just check around. I am taking a class in december from a local guy that has been building for along time.

I'd jump on the class personally. But watch out, it's an addiction. And not necessarily cheap either laugh

I thought $80 for a rod was crazy last year...now I can spend that on the blank! But it's alot of fun and helps pass time in the winter.

that's not too bad, considering what you are paying for it....

My rod wrapper and thread tensioners are made out of scrap wood and nuts, bolts, springs I had laying around.

It isn't much better and it gets the job done.

If I was building rods (semi)professionally, I would think about a power wrapper but I'm only building a handful a year. I'll stick with the manual action for now.
