XI Legend XL bow???

I was at my Brother in laws last night talking about my upcoming Ripely hunt and he tells me that he has a bow. Been married to my sister for 21 years and I never knew it. So he goes and brings it out. Its an XI Legend XL. I have never heard of this brand of bow. I think he bought it in the early to mid 90's? Has anyone ever heard of these or possibly shot one? Trying to figure out if it is a decent bow for him to use now that he wants to get back into archery hunting?

I shot a XI Legend Magnum for a few years when they first came out and then went to a XI Legacy. Great bows back then. Killed a lot of deer with them back in the day. There's nothing wrong with that bow if it's all he has. I'd take a good look at the string and cables though and I think I'd try to get them replaced if possible.

I think my dad still has both of my XI's tucked away somewhere.

Hey Bret. I agree, The Legend (steel cables) and its successor the Legend Magnum (fast flight cables) were great bows, lightweight with a great grip. Not overly fast but smooth and good shooters. Change out the string and cables and it'll be good for another 20 years!

XI brings back a lot of good memories. XI was popular in the late '80's to early 90's, back in the era of Miles Keller and D ick Idol. As been said, XI bows were known for quality with few issues. It will not be fast compared to the new bows, but it would make a decent starter bow.
