And where do u find this magical qb. The vikings drafted what they hope is the future of the franchise. You act as though the vikings paid Peterson rather than signing Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, or Tom Brady. As if this magic passing attack grows on trees and the vikings are passing on all these options. I mean give me a break, there are like 4 teams fortunate enough to have this luxury and 28 teams trying to find this luxury. Once again pretending as if this is something exclusive to the Vikings.

Lets see now, Brady I think was a 6th rounder, could the Vikes have him?

Was Brees traded or was he a free agent? Either way to my knowledge the Vikes made no effort to get him. Rodgers fell to the bottom of the draft and I know the Vikes needed Twill but in hindsight...

Looks like they could have had Brady and Rodgers for sure and made a effort to get Brees.

Putting $100M into a RB isn't showing much effort in finding a QB, in fact it is going in the complete opposite direction of that.

"Geez dad, McNabb must have thrown for 39 yards!!"

"nothing to be proud of, Rusty".

"39 yards..."

The deal came after they signed what the believe to be there quarterback of the future in Ponder. Having a runner like AP will only help a young quarterback.

How'd that work out for the ol' gunslinger today? The defense really adjusted their schemes to cover Peterson and left holes all over for McNabb to throw to...

I don't know how it worked out considering it was Mcnabb out there playing. What I was talking about was Ponder being their qb of the future as he matures. Always gotta change the subject to make yourself look correct.

Lmit its not rocket science, the vikings hope Ponder is their future Aaron Rodgers. Feel free to enlighten everybody on one other single route to getting this magical passing attack.

You're right it's not rocket science, yet it's baffling why so many here have trouble figuring it out. For years the Vikings have been bringing in washed up QB's that were past their prime instead of drafting or trading for a QB to build their franchise around...pick one, there have been many that other teams are using right now.

As flipper eluded to, it's an emotional decision regarding Peterson (and Mauer) and not a logical one. They are fan favorites but that alone won't win you anything.

Um, no.

Let me put it this way if it helps...

How would AP help Ponder any different than it helped McNabb today?

Like drew brees? He wasn't drew brees until he became a saint. Matt Cassell? He's really panned out. Name an option available to the vikings that they neglected by signing AP. They just did what you stated by drafting Ponder. I just don't get how signing AP yesterday has somehow prohibited the vikings from finding this passing attack. Top flight qbs aren't traded. You are resigned to developing one out of the draft and that is the situation they are in.

Because Ponder is a completely different quarterback then Mcnabb is. Another thing that would help is if the coaches would actually call some pass plays down the fiels or mcnabb throw it down field. But again they are 2 different quarterbacks you cant tell how one would do over the other. And again were talkin bout Ponder in a yr or two once he gets some more experience and matures. And AP is a franchise player thats what you do with franchise players you sign them to big contracts to keep them with your team. Zigi would be gone if he let AP go.

Both of you guys are defending a franchise that has accomplished nothing and yet believe they are doing the right thing? How can you defend them and their decision making and believe you're right? Don't you see something wrong in that?

Good luck with 50 more years of mediocrity. wave.gif

....or maybe you could enlighten us on how not resigning AP would have helped in this quest for the magic qb. How in the world would that make it easier to find this passing game. It's not like the vikings can put that 13 million to rivers or Rodgers next year. You would be in the same boat with or without AP. Hoping Ponder is your future.

So here your saying the right thing to do is to draft a qb to build there franchise around. Which is exactly what they did with Ponder. Than in your last post you say that they are doing nothing right. hmm kinda of contradicting...

And that somehow has something to do with signing AP to an extension yesterday? Lol.

Hey everybody if we wouldn't have signed AP we would have somehoe had the saints or packers passing game in 2 years. I guess there is a magic qb tree that would have somehow fixed the vikings qb problem that won't since they signed AP lol
