Please ID this fish

I caught this fish this morning. I'm guessing that it's 24-28 inches long (I like to return fish quickly to the water, so I took this picture as quickly as possible and then got it back in the water). Can you identify it for me?

I am thinking that it's either a tiger muskie or a pure-bred muskie, but I can't tell the difference (and honestly, it could just be a weird looking northern pike) since I've never caught either. Looking at the DNR's stocking reports, pure-bred muskies have been stocked on a nearby water body that is connected to this one.

There is something about pores on the jawbone or scales on gill covers or something like that that is the official way of telling. I think it is in the fishing regulations book.
