delcecchi
What did the alarm sound like? Could it be the VRO? Do you have the fine manual?
new_kid
the alarm sounded like a smoke detector and i do not have the manule for the moter
delcecchi
So it was a continuous tone? If so, web search says that is the overheating alarm. Water coming out of indicator?Or it could be a "fuel restriction" Oil problem is a beep every so often
pinkfloyd4ever
no lights to go by? I am guessing over heating too
boatfixer
the alarm sounded like a smoke detector and i do not have the manule for the moter Locate the thermal switch on the back of the powerhead. it has a tan wire running from it. disconnect the tan wire and see if the alarm quits. That will isolate your problem.
new_kid
I will have to try pulling that wire if it happens again but it did it 3 different times throught the day once as soon as i unloaded the boat and once later on while running to a new spot and another time while slowly running over a spot and looking on the depthfinder bacicly trolling speed and it only lasted like 10 to 30 seconds each timeanother question i have is how hard is it to unhook the oil injection on this moter so that i can just go back to pre mix gas and not have to worry about the oil injection going out and cooking my moter or is the 91 model year new enough that i shouldnt have to worry about that oil injection pump
new_kid
just a bump to see if i can get an answer to my second question
Sonicrunch
It's no too bad. The easiest way is to Remove the VRO pump and install a regular fuel pump. The vaccum source is likely to be different between the two, but that would be the most difficult part.
delcecchi
If you google "remove vro" you get all sorts of interesting looking links.
