Ice rod preferances

I'm wondering what you guys/gals like to use for ice rods. I started building open water rods this year and tis the season to start looking into ice rods. I've typically been going to FF or GM and just buying what feels right and the price looks good. But I haven't paid attention to length, power, etc.

So, what do you like for walleye rods and pan fish rods?

Definitely check out the rod building forums as there's several guys building their own ice rods. Otherwise my favorites are Thorne Brothers and Jason Mitchell in that order. I have several rods from each and everything else is several cuts below in quality.

I would say out of my selection of rods the Thorn Bros.walleye sweetheart is my favorite. I also have a couple custom rods that were built by a guy from wisc. that were built out of fly rod blanks that I really like. For me, 28-30" Medium with an extra fast tip for walleye longer if I am outside.
