A morning on the river.

Had the opportunity to take with brother in law and nephew on a little trout hunt saturday morning. The fishing was good. They caught lots of brookies, browns and rainbows. I just helped my nephew and his biggest fish were a 14" rainbow and a 11" brookie. He was pumped, I was too!!!

Brookies are great table fare!!! I gut and gill them. Fry them in butter with the skin on and throw in a onion. Take em out pull the skin off then grab the backbone and all the bones come out as one. Then dip the fish meat in the melted butter. Its fantastic!

That being said we do practice a lot of catch and release. But do keep some for fresh meals.

Good luck.

Gag....choke....spit...hack...groan.

Broiled or poached in court bullion.Side dishes of fresh asparagus with fresh made hollandaise sauce and small red potatoes with garlic butter on them. Chilled 1956 Chateau Y'Quim compliments the meal.

But of course you probably prefer a diet Coke.

Ha ha ha ha.

I prefer mine boiled in High Life, onion, garlic and kraut then tossed on the grill........oh wait, thought we were talking about brats.......nevermind, I prefer my brookies in fresh water, swimming freely........

Ditto.

But kraut on the brats... YUK!
