Question for airjer

Recommended Posts

You posted this on the Tool Time forum about your air compressor:

I have an upright craftsman and it works for everything I need to do. I forget what gallon it is but it is the biggest 110 volt non professional you can get.

airjer, is your compressor oiless?

I bought a Craftsman oiless, 33 gallon upright. I checked the tank drain and it looks like you need to tip it to get your hand in to loosen the knurled screw. Is yours like this? Do you have to tip it or do you use a pliers? Has anyone removed this drain valve and installed something easier to use? I am thinking of returning it and getting one of the Sanborn compressors from Menards. These are oil lubed compressors and have an easy open drain valve.

Me too, although I will admit at times I need to use a pliers to loosen it, and a lever, or a wing nut type drain valve would be easier, but for the few times a year I actually remember to drain it, its not a huge issue to me.
