Connan
Nice ones Dark!! Some awesome bands. The oil really makes it look nice. Here are a few of my best from this weekends hunt; This is a Agate I found earlier this summer in the Yoop of Michigan.

TonkaBass
Nice connan, I like the display too. I was up at 2 shores this weekend and saw some really nice ones at the rock shop there and also at the DNR display in Moose Lake. I also took a gander at the 108 pounder at the 1st National Bank in Moose Lake. It was a fun weekend, but I only found a couple not so great agates on the shore of Superior. Connan
Thanks!... Ive heard the 108 pounder is kinda disappointing to see. How was it? This is a Citrine Agate I found! I have found a few Amethyst agates before and knew they are rare but this is just awesome. The pics don't really do it justice. The quartz in the center is a deep goldish yellow! TonkaBass
Nice one! Yeah, the 108 pounder is nothing great if you ask me, however there is a 46 pounder in the DNR display that is pretty nice looking.
Ferny
Wow nice pics! They make mine look like agate seeds, which I am awesome at finding!Hope to find some while out grouse hunting with my son on the North Shore rivers. Thanks for posting the awesome pics!Ferny
DARK30
I hit a pit near Fergus Falls last weekend. I stopped in and talked to the loader operater. He said no problem but the only problem was...no agates. Ended up putting the hurt on a bunch of smallmouth in the Otter Tail River instead. Heres a nice little eye I found two weeks ago closer to home...

ShawnZ
Wow, that's a complex agate there Conan. Looks like it has a little of everything, oxidation, eyes, bit of a water level feature, looks like a bit of a floater feature, quartz plug....that is just an all around very cool rock! Connan
thanks! Yeah I really like getting to see other hunters finds! I will update as soon as I find another good one! Glasseye; I would keep your fishing plans and just search for agates while you fish! They can be found all over. Look for some gravel banks, sand bars, or rocky streams. TonkaBass; You fish on Lk. Minnetonka I'm guessing? I found a small agate near Eagle island last year. It wasn't great but I bet there are more out there! Trouble is all the rocks seem to get covered in muck. DARK30
The red n white is purdy! Do you tumble any?
GlassEyeangler
take a look at the bottom one again...X marks the spot - way too cool.it just hit me yesterday when i was out fishing. when we going up to deer camp, we always sight in our rifles at a huge gravel pit...it was like one of those 'duh' moments! i have never searched for agates in the pile before, but this year will be different!ok, so not sure if you hunt and fish, but if so...you'll appreciate this. we have created goals where we can win money for the following. everyone kicks in $10. winner takes all!Rifle Opener-Land or Sea trophy (shoot a deer or catch a walleye)-Surf n Turf trophy (shoot a deer and catch a walleye)-Land, Sea and Air trophy (shoot a deer, catch a walleye and shoot a grouse)if all we do is shoot deer...it's the biggest one kinda thing. two years ago i won the Surf n Turf trophy, and there are 7 people at camp - woohoo!so since this gravel pit is located a mile away from the cabin, and were going there anyway...what do we call the shoot the deer, grouse, catch a walleye and pick an agate? Connan
I haven't tumbled any yet but I have a bunch that I want to try. Im going to try and get a tumbler this winter to occupy my Agate addiction while the snow is on the ground... glasseye that sounds like a really fun game! Best of luck to ya!
