Brickyard 400 Time!! Who's going to win it this year?

This is one of my favorite races of the year! Thus, my yahoo fantasy name "Brickyard Master"... The place just has so much history and is awesome to visit (not the best viewing-but great grounds and the town is sweet).

Well, I have to say I believe Jeff Gordon is going to do it for the fifth time! He has been awesome on flat tracks this year.

My dark horse is Joey Logano... Don't laugh it could happen wink

Aside from the history (which quite honestly doesn't include NASCAR at all), this track is one of worst races all year. A lot of hype, little to no action on the track. The most exciting race they've had was the one where the tires fell apart every 7-10 laps. Otherwise, this weekend is a total snoozefest and it was extremely disappointing to hear that they are moving the Nationwide race to Indy next year from ORP.

Montoya dominated last year so maybe he or McMurray will get back into the groove. That team is really struggling this year.

How about Tony Stewart, he is due and he has won this race a couple times in the past 5 years.

Plus he is my sons favorite driver.

He won the World of Outlaws race last night (first ever) so he might be a bit hungover this weekend! smile

I couldn't agree more.

I can't predict since I haven't seen more than three races this season (just got DirecTV). However, now that I'm back to watching races I'll go for my boy Keneseth, but this isn't his track.

My guess is your right on Burton moving on once the kid is ready.

I'm a fan of Jeff but this season has been hard.

I agree the racing is not the best but, that tire race sucked hugely! I was there and it was horrible! I still think the first race with Ernie and J. Gordon swaping places toward the end of the race was awesome! Plus, how about Tony running down Harvick "Here kitty kitty come get ya some *itch"! That was just spectacular to watch on site lap by lap coming down the homestrech! I'm a fan of all motorsports so Indy is the real deal! Yes, the history is short for NASCAR but, Gordon 4 times, JJ 3 times, Jarret 2 times and Tony a double also! That is history in the making a track were the big dogs come to play! Other, than Jamie Mac I guess...

I agree with the ORP comment, what an awesome little track bummer!

These fuel mileage races stink.

I agree.

Drive slow to win? Just doesn't seem right and it's not what I want to watch. In a way it reminds me of the greyhounds chasing down the rabbit at the race track. Are they going to get it, or not? Oh so close. smile

But, I also understand that it is part of the strategy and it's really just a function of how the cautions come out. There's not really any way you can control that, regardless of the conspiracy theories about NASCAR's phantom cautions, and it's been a factor forever. It just seems like it is happening more often than usual. Chalk it up to bad luck, I guess.
