Lake Sallie 57

Agreed Jerry, once I heard the 4th or 5th varying story I was done, we've heard 1 story about the large tiger shouldn't that be the way it is not embellished 6 hour release, that's when I was lost, if I were to do that I'd be able to draw disability on my back, I challenge anyone to hold a deceased 50 whatever incher over the side of your boat for 6 hours in likely 90 degreeish heat, then oh we watched it float by the dock for 6 hours etc. What does a mount like that run $ wise ?

Just think this kid will be back fishing the state again He will catch a 44,46,52,49,42, and a 40 and not 1 of those fish will live another day!!!!

What? Are you serious or is it fact Brian? I already got the impression you don't like the kid but thats a serious allegation to say over the interenet... if its ,of course factual. Do you know this for sure or is it hear say?

Brian, if you are able to answer this as fact, what the heck is he doing with these fish, why do you say he will kill them all? Internet mudslinging being what it is, if even a portion of it is true, I'd like to know how/why and what is the motivation. You seem to know him quite well, please enlighten us.

My guess is after all of the personal attacks and criticism he will endure over the internet and at accesses he probably won't keep another fish. SOme one from his camp has been calling looking for back-up on his story.

I got the call this morning. I told the guy to let it go - All he is going to do is add fuel to the fire. I hope by now everyone on that side of the fence realizes what a blunder they have done and try to fade away.

The unfortunate thing is that because of all this, the small fishable population is now on the radar and the access as of the last couple days shows proof of that.

I wish I could have been more careful on how I worded it. I'm not attacking Brian. Like Propster said its turn into interenet mudslinging. He's only 22. His full name is in the press. I don't know anything about him and I won't pass judgement on him because of what so and so said about him on this site.

On a positive Brian if all of that is fact, he kepts all his fish. Because of his new found fame he will have a tougher time breaking the law of kepting undersize fish. Keep in mind you hae no idea of who or how many people read these sites for your own good. Not hinting anything there. Just think about thats all smile

That is too bad. The funny thing is there are lots of lakes that have fish that size. Thanks too C&R , Muskie Inc. and DNR stocking. Trick is avoiding the crowds and finding the windows. Time on the water is the easy answer.

Let me get this straight. Some rich, spoiled kid from Arizona comes all the way to fish for muskies because there good to eat. There's walleyes, panfish, northern, trout ect but he likes trophy muskies. I think he's just trying to get a reaction out of you Brain.

This guy told me he keeps the fish, legal or not, because there is no lakes in Arizona that have any fish worth eating.... I hope this has opened his eyes a little!!!!

Are you kidding me?

I'm waiting for Puff The Magic Dragon to make an appearance in this story somehow....it keeps getting more bizarre by the day.

I can see it in the Star Trib now......"New twist to the story about the proposed new MN muskie record had the DNR been employed at the time"......fish did not take a boat ride.....here's how it happened...

...........and just like that Puff swooped down out of the clouds and carried the 57 to shore for John for the photo shoot but Puffs razor sharp dragon claws pierced the side of the fish rendering life threatening injuries, thus John was forced to take it to the taxidermist where he paid extra for the skin to be removed on site in order to grill up muskie fillets for all his AZ buddies back home where he told the tale of the 20 minute fight with the beast on his new Power Rangers fishing pole.......

hahaha, good grief, I either already need a beer or a full day on the water to clear my head! I'm losing my marbles.

Brian, how do you know this guy?

I see him on the water and at da bar a few times a summer. Always remember him because he was telling me about all the muskies he catches and keeps some of them!!!

This whole thing is just dumb and Im done talking about it....

So I’m confused Brian, in your 2 previous posts you said he kills them all, now you are saying “some” of them, and he actually eats them when there are lakes full of walleyes and crappies he could take home.

You’re stories and allegations are a bit sketchy and like the whole fish story itself, have as many holes in them as my net.

The diff is that you're making accusations about someone poaching on the internet.

Killing all fish, legal or not was your first story, not it's some fish.

Maybe you don't even know him, or have ever talked to him. Kind of hard to tell what's true at this point.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
