Recommend a long handled landing net.

Moose-Hunter

Question

Looking to upgrade my landing net. New boat, new net. grin It will need to have a "longer" than normal handle to be able to reach past the outboard while trolling. I don't need anything "muskie" sized. Walleye will be it's normal target, with trout/salmon coming in second.

The one thing about nets I HATE is having to extract tangled up lures. Any material that will help in the respect is much appreciated.

What net do ya think would be my best option?

Frabil conservation series with the expandable handle, 4+3'. It has the great hook proof bag and the hoop is big enough for tournament walleye fishing. Alot of people use the Beckman and I think it's a stronger, better made handle but the bag on the Frabil is WAY better. If Beckman ever comes out with a hookproof bag it will be game over for the other net makers out there.

Rubber nets dont get the hooks in them and tangle like the others do. They are also easier on the fish. Not sure what brand we bought but it extends to 3 times its length, red handle, black rubber netting. Works great.

fleet farm sells a good light extendalbe handle one for bout

deep net i tie it off like half way up so the fish dont go all the

way to the bottom and get tangled

rubber is nice for no hooks but to heavy (specially for the monsters i catch..lol) when extended out

I had a nice rubber net and gave it away after a nice walleye did the old trampoline trick out of it. Now its a good deep hook free net.
