SteeveeD
Next week is my best chance to get out fishing in a boat as I'll be on vacation at a cabin for the week (Fergus Falls area). The forecast is for very hot weather. What strategies would you use in that situation? Will the fish move out to deeper water?
EBass
More than likely, but there's always shallow bass if there's good cover; like docks, fallen trees, lily pads. Plus some are in the weed pockets and then some on the weededge and some on some sunken midlake humps. It's summer peak so they will be everywhere and no where all at once. Ctrl_Alt_Dlt
Id use top water lures for shallow. I also like to use shadalicious or Yum's money shad for topwater to mid water. Then worms and jigs for pitching into lilypads.
kt
I fish a lot up in that area and it really depends on the lake you are on. Some lakes get a good deepwater bite going while others will have a lot of fish shallow. It really depends on the lake and what is available (cover, food, etc.) where in a given body of water. If I had a lake name i could possibly give you a better idea.
SteeveeD
I will be on East Battle Lake next week.
TonkaBass
I have a cabin on east battle and am heading up right now. Its a good lake and I did a little bass fishing last weekend there and got them ok honestly if you want to catch a ton of fish just tie on an 1/8 oz mushroom head jig with a 7" powerworm. Just keep moving until you find some schools.

TonkaBass
I was in a little red lund with a 15 mariner on it. Spent an hour or so fishig for some crappies, but didn't do any bass fishing. Good luck
Fever
Not sure if this response is too late SteeveeD but like a couple others posts said, the fish will be in their summer patterns and this means that there will be fish both very shallow, then deep, not so much at all in between. Meaning 1-4 ish feet then again out deeper in the 10-20 fow range. Not knowing a lake very well makes fish the shallow population an easier option for most, as its more visual. There will always be a shallow population and targeting them around docks, wood, milfoil, and pads is fairly dependable. Fish as much shady area during brighter times of the day as bass being ambush predators will seek out those types of areas. Topwater buzz baits are great search baits during low light conditions. If you know the lake or have good electronics and GPS fishing deep weedlines, humps, and points can be very effective deep water areas to target as fish in summer patterns should begin schooling up out deep following bait fish.
