WallyGader

Question

I was on mille lacs last sunday and my lowrance was taking foerever to pick up the satelites (in which it never did)so i had left it plugged into the 12v power cable and powered on. Well after I made a small trip to my next spot i noticed that the h2o had powered of so i tryed turning it back on and now all i get is the backlight to just flash, now for my question is this fixable or is the unit junked like i think it is.

Have you tried a reset ?

Reset Options

In Advanced Mode

1. Press MENU|MENU|down arrow to SYSTEM SETUP|ENT|down arrow to RESET OPTIONS|ENT|left arrow to YES|ENT.

In Easy Mode

Hold down the PAGES key while you press PWR to turn the unit on.

NOTE:

Reset Options does not erase any waypoints, routes, icons or plot trails

Yup, batteries or plugged in no go. When I hit the power button it flashes bright then dims and back to a black screen, nothing shows on the unit.

I hate to say it but it maybe toast! frown I bought a used one off a guy from the web for $25 bucks because he had a good cord and lake chip in it that I wanted but the darn thing did the exact same thing. If you pulled the batteries out and put them back in and hit the power botton the backlight would flash but it would not come back on. I tried it everyway I could with new batteries and two different cords and no go. I still got what I wanted out of it. I hope that i'm wrong on yours! eek

HA! I was just logging on to ask about my H20c doing the same thing. Thanks for the reset tip Jim I'll try that tonight and report back if it works.

I hope this works, it gives me a sick feeling to think all those waypoints are gone, I backed them up but that was probably a year ago, to anyone else reading this: stop what you're doing and back up your waypoints right now.
