Problem with Johnson Fishing

I have a 2 bank Minkota on board charger that was part of a package with a new boat just 2 years ago. The charger is no longer working for one of the batteries. I tried calling the 1 800 number for Johnson Fishing and sat on hold for over 20 minutes. I hung up and tried emailing. When you send an email you get an immediate response that says to be patient that during the busy season it will take up to 5 days to get a response. Well I waited 2 weeks and received no response. I sent another email. It has now been over 3 weeks from the first email and still no response. Nice customer service Minkota. I feel like driving down to Mankato and throwing the thing through their window.

Ya give them a call. One time I needed new seals for my trolling motor, called them directly and got ahold of a representative shortly after and they helped me order the right part, as well as emailing me a PDF diagram of how all the parts are assembled for my specific model of trolling motor, as well as emailing my a PDF file of the owners manual for my model, so I could replace the seals myself. Had the seals shipped to my doors 3-4 days later, all at a cost of like $5. And this all was during May (busy season).

Well some may call this a coincidence but I don’t think so. I think they have people monitoring sites like this. As soon as they get bad press they jump at the chance to help. Not more than 30 minutes after posting the first time I had a representative call me and say they would be happy to send me a new one right away and I could send the old one back with a prepaid postage that would be in the box with the new one. The new one would even be a more updated one and better than the one I have. Now don’t get me wrong, I am very pleased and impressed with this decision. My problem is it was around 3 weeks and I had to post here to get a response. All and all a good outcome, and a very good company to stand behind their product without even questioning my purchase date or needing me to send the old one first. I will stick with Minkota products. I just think a little weird they call RIGHT after I post here.
