Wish-I-Were-Fishn
I was pleasantly surprised a few years back when the three rivers parks went from having to pay to get in to free. I'm very surprised that are free given all the budget issues these days. Where do they get their funding?

OnAFly
They made a deal with Satan. I still don't like those people after they ticketed me for not paying a trailer fee. I was driving a jetta. No it didn't have a trailer.
wkngmomof2
They went to a user fee, depending what you do, they have decent horse trails and you used to be able to bring a whole trailer full of horses and only pay 1 fee, how many people ride alone? So now they collect $5 for each horse as each horse needs a trail pass or $35 annual for each horse with a break for family emembers. They do the same for everything else. Here's the list of activities that require passes....Archery PassesA pass is required for archers. Youth age 15 and younger are free but must be accompanied by a paying adult.Boat Trailer PassesA pass is required to park boat trailers at the boat lanches from April 1 through November 30.Cross-country Ski PassesA pass is required for all skiers age 12 and older from November 1 through March 31Disc Golf PassesA pass is required for all disc golfers. Dog Off-leash PassesA pass is required to use any of the dog off-leash areas.Horseback Riding PassesA pass is required for all riders age 12 and older. Three Rivers Park District does not rent horses.Hyland Ski & Snowboard Area PassesThere are several passes
so haaad
Most of thier funding comes through local taxes (property taxes). Some funding comes from the state and user fees, but most is from local taxes.
