When turned on w remote the screen on remote shows the prop should be turning but its not. Nothing under prop that would prohibit turning..left /right functions fine. Bought unit from my buddy..its only 2yrs old..suggestions?

Before the update I was thinking of the connection. I've had mine have everything "GPS" not working if the connection was bad. But overheating would have me worried and is out of my scope!

I had something simular happen, line from a reel got caught in the prop and wound around the shaft behind the prop and took out the seal. I took it to mankato and had to replace the seal and more parts in the unit.

Prop not turning, or turning slowly, is a symptom of bad batteries. Even if the left / right turn functions work.

The first thing I would do is get your batteries load tested (which is NOT the same thing as testing voltage) or try it with a couple of known good batteries. Good luck getting it figured out.

both are almost new interstate batteries..also when you spin it by hand to get it going it runs thru the power range very well and appears normal. It just wont start on its own..the heat has to be something binding causing friction to pass heat along the shaft.its only a year old by the stick on it..do they honor second owners of minnkota products for warranty?
