Is there a portable radio/boombox out there that can be taken in the boat? Eventually my goal is to have something that can connect with XM radio. My problem has been finding something that is waterproof. If there is something out there, or someone that currently does this, looking for any input! Not interested in installing a deck or speakers, so portability is the key.

Kinda spendy, but this might fit the bill. Could run on 12 v. Looks like you could hook it up to your XM.

Check out the Milwaukee waterproof jobsite radio. Runs on 120volt as well as their battery packs used in their cordless tools and it charges them when hooked up to 120 volt.

How about a simple battery powered speaker that you can hook an ipod or smartphone into?

I found one at Best Buy for like 9 bucks. Maybe not totally waterproof, but I bet there are some waterproof ones available.

With the smartphone option, you can have an FM radio app, pandora, or just play music locally from the phone.
