Comit 2
the AeroPress isn't too bad. I really like the easy clean up. A big plus when water is not easy to come my.
Gordie
That Areopress is a slick way to make coffee My mom just got me a cowboy/campfire coffee boiler and this type of press wood work great with that.
Slabasaurus
What do you use to make coffee while camping? Bumpin this one up... I hate instant coffee... most of the time. BUT the starbucks VIA stuff is pretty decent, it's all I had in my thermos when I was out on the brule this fall. That said, around the campfire for breakfast, I am probably going to try the french press idea. Never brought one camping for some reason (because I hate breaking stuff probably). here's an avg setup for me. (Unlabeled items: Tent, Trash bag, Backpack, Leaky waders, Surly Furious (censored), Titleist Auburn hat w/ black bugger over the AU logo for the shooting last year)
DooWap
If I'm bringing the gear in on my boat or truck I'll bring a percolator. If it's coming in on my back or on a canoe I usually just make cowboy coffee. Nothing better than cowboy coffee in the BWCA while casting for some morning walleyes!! Stick in Mud
The Starbucks instant stuff is actually pretty drinkable. Another option is--I don't know if this description makes any sense--using the black plastic funnel thingy with a filter inside, then putting the grounds in the filter and dumping boiling water on it. Depending on the morning, I'll either do this (if I want to take the time) or I'll go the instant route. The funnel thingy is about an ounce, a filter weighs nothing, and the coffee grounds are worth the weight, too. All in all, it's not a bad set-up if you want good coffee. Comit 2
Use caution when making coffee with the Areopress. 3 scoops of coffee in one press and 16ozs of water and you may be awake until 3am the next day.
