motor seems to smoke alot

I have a older 8hp suzuki two stroke (belive mid 80s) that I got from my folks. Problem being lately its seems to put out a lot of smoke. The last tank I mixed with amzoil saber, mixed approx 100/1, the normal mix is 50/1, but did not seem to make a difference. any ideas?

You could be seeing steam and not smoke from a worn out impeller.

I wouldn't mix 100:1 no matter what anyone says.

Absolutely. You WILL be seeing smoke (!) from scuffed cylinder walls and rings if you continue this. Check your plug color...they should be a "medium" tan to a bit darker color. When was the last time you replaced them? If they're oil fouled, start looking at other issues... you may be running too rich...dirty jets/needles, are you sure choke is all the way off? Unobstructed carb throat? Bad ring or rings?

my suggestion also was going to be to make sure your choke is disengaging.
