Scott K
I am looking at installing a whole house water filtration system. I dont want to spend a ton of money, but I do want one that works well. Anyone have any recommendations? I dont want to spend the money on a reverse osmosis system, but I was thinking like a 3-4 stage filter. Is this something you just call a plumber to install, and they have them? Or do you have to buy one, then have the plumber install? Or are they fairly easy to install yourself? Archerysniper
Depends on what model you get and how much room and pipe you have to hook up too, most models are really easy to install and if you can solder copper you should be set.
Eric Wettschreck
Scott, what are you shooting for here? Meaning, what are you trying to filter out? Iron, Manganese??? Got a lot of hardness? Rotten egg smell? Just tastes bad??? I'm asking cuz there are a lot of systems out there that target one or two specific things, but don't do much for the others. IE- a softener will remove the hardness, but the rotten egg smell will remain. etc, etc, etc. Like A.S. said, if you can solder copper you can do most installs yourself. If you can't solder copper, I know of a guy who's willing to help ya out.
