Wondering how many people start baiting right away or wait closer to open season. Do bears get bored with one station or same baits or get in a habit going to a station. I want daily usually 2-3 times per week. How many stations do you keep active if getting hit ?

Other than test baits I think the real baiting starts in mid Aug. If you had enough bait, time and baited close to home you might run test baits but they have to a certain distance away from your normal sight. Just double check the regs though.

I think some do it to find out which will have a large boar and which will have sows with cubs. That way you eliminate certain sights the closer you get to the season.

you cant start bating until august 13th this year it will give three weekends of baiting before opener on the first.

I start right away as soon as baiting stasrts. each bear is different, so its never the same. I dont think the station has anything to do with boredom but you can burn out a bear with the same supper night after night. Having a good variety is a good thing. Changing bait can spook a mature boar, but younger gluttons I dont think mind as much. keep the same routine, once a bear hits i go evry night, same time every everytime. Bears are creatures of habit, if their comfertable doing some thing they stick with it an change will spook em' I keep all my site in check, EXCEPT last year..... wen I broke my own rule wich kick my a$$, we let two sites go after four weeks of little or nothing, an then about five days left of the season i stoped to pick up equipment an those two site had been hit an like to bare dirt. pis ss me off, my own bad. never again. I even talked about not letting a site go on the forum an contradicted myself an it bit me. So this year all sites started will remain going till end of season. OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH I cant wait. Boar
