Need help with Dish Net work tv

Dusty

Question

I have Dish Network at home. I take a reciever box with to the lake. Never had a problem till this year. I can't get a signal no matter what I do. I have a high def dish on the roof at home. I use 2 hd boxes at home and one regular box thinking I could still take the reg. box to the lake. I am wondering if Dishnet work could have reprogramed my reg. reciever box to only work on an hd dish. any ideas??

I'm no expert but....

So, all three boxes (2 HD's and 1 non-HD) are activated and work at home, right?

Before, you just took the same box up north, plugged it in and it worked? You didn't have to reprogram (check switch) or anything?

Dish up north could have moved a bit?

I have no signal strength at the place up north. I have done the check switch test and moved the dish and nothing. My next move is to replace the cables, but I wonder if I need a hd dish?

If you haven't already done so, get a signal strength tester online (15-20 bucks)and go to dishpointer.com to get your numbers, then try zeroing it in. It doesn't have to move very far to lose signal, especially if you're trying to shoot through a hole in the trees

Don't if its your trouble but I do the same.Had shut it down end of last deer season when I tryed it this spring I couldn't get a signal finally call dish tec and they had to reactivate the signal to my reciever they stated something about it being off that long losses signal any way thats all it took.

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think thats the problem as I get a signal with that box at home but can't get a signal with it at the lake.

I've used my HD with a non-HD antenna and have connect non-HD receivers to my HD dish at home, and can get signals so, I wouldn't think that's your issue.

Was any of the cabling or splitters changed at home when you went to HD? I would doubt your cable up north went "bad".
