Looking to get into duck hunting this coming fall, whats the best call for under or around $30?

I'd spend an extra $20 and get an Polycarbonate/Diamondwood Echo Timber. They are $50 new or you might be able to find a used one.

Or better yet, how about for 20 bucks! Get a Buck Gardner double nasty 2, best "cheap" call hands down. I have top end rnt's, echo's, foiles and still use my double nasty all the time.

Yep, can't wrong with that Buck Gardner call for the price. Price isn't everything when it comes to calls. Sometimes they want my expensive RNT's and sometimes they only want the cheap girl.

I've had $100 duck calls, and $10 duck calls. They all sound the same if you don't know what you are doing on them. buy both a double reed and a single reed, then buy a video that teaches you how to call.

Haydel's makes a good inexpensive call in my opinion.

Wench is a decent sounding intro call. Easy to blow, ok on basic sounds. Lasts a season and the guts are wore out. Good call to learn on until stepping up to acrylics.

Haydels Redleg. We shoot a lot of ducks each yr over here and that is my go to call. Was in cabelas several yrs ago and a pro was doing a calling expo. After done he was answering questions etc. My dad walked up to him and told him that his competition calling didn't sound anything like a duck and asked if he did that calling when hunting. He said no, and pulled a redleg off the shelf and said he used that for his hunting. We have been using them since with great success.

I also have high dollar calls but the double J sounds REAL good if you know how to call or want to learn how to call good.
