Gulp

How many have used this and with what results. I have tried the the 3" minnow, the minnow grub, the 6" crawler, and the leech imitator. I do not see any better results with this then the plain old Berkley power bair or power bait with b i o salt. I also do get any where near the resutlts with this as I do with live bait presentations. I interested in what others have to report

I use gulp or Power Baits of all sorts and do well on them. I dont think anything works like live bait but at certain times I di better with them. Usually in current areas I like the Power Shiners in Walleyes/Tournament sent.
I love the plastics when its cold out. No cold /wet hands to deal with. Spring and Fall seem best. I also like bumping up the sizes with the plastics this time of year. Seems the fish Im catching love the biggest shiner imatations I can find. I cant find Bunji Leeches anymore and it bums me out.
Biggest thing I found was to use them when I normally wouldnt and gain confedince in them. If you dont use them you cant catch anything and dont get comfortable with them.
Yesterday Me and Jim H. caught a lot of BIG Lake Superior Smallies on Power Leeches or Power Shiners.

Used it on Tonka quite a bit this summer. 3" grubs on jigs and crawlers with spinners for trolling.

Worked fairly well but I still do better with minnows.

Sunnies tore the tails off quite a bit. They were more aggressive than with power bait. They like the smell.

I had good results with the Gulp, but also had good results with the old reliable Power Bait. If you forget it on a hook or let it lay in the boat, it can harden on a hook. Even if you lay it down for a while to try something else, it will harden and need to be changed. I always have it dangling over the side of the boat to keep it wet. Sunfish will attack it while it hangs in the water.

I tried a comparison of Gulp to PowerBait on crappies and found they both worked equally well.
My fishing partner and I used the same equipment and jigs. The only difference was the added Gulp or PowerBait.
It would have been nice to have had the third person along using just a plane jig for reference.

I've had more times than not, when plastics or GULP outfished live bait easily.

However, on Kab last week that was not the case. Live bait won the day there.

Good to hear there has success. I will need to continue to try the different plastics and gulp. My box is loaded with so many of these and I love to try different tactics as you never know what is going to be the trigger. My confidence is still on the live bait. I am going to try some of these on the hard water as well. In this situation I can fish two lines and make a pretty accurate comparison on what the fish prefer..
