Fire-Line

Has anyone had problems with fish getting sliced and diced by Fire-line.

I have had a few come to the net all cut up.

I'm looking for something to use for a leader that won't cause to much drag but will not be so hard on the fish.

Any ideas are wellcome!

I can't even tell you how many fish I have caught on fireline, and I have NEVER had that problem at all.

Where are these cuts on the fish that you're getting?

I've been using Fireline since it has been on the market. Caught lotsa fish on it and I too have NEVER seen a fish cut by it. I'm REAL curious to see how this comes out! What kind of fish are you catching? Are you fishing shallow water? Where are the cuts on the fish?

I've been catching pike.

On the L.E.T.S tournament I caught a 11.5lb pike. The face was all cut up from the 10lb fire-line. I have had the same problem many times before with pike. Along with some gashes along the sides.

I too love the stuff.

I have been using Fireline for years and never have cut a fish with it. I boated a couple of 40" muskies using 10# and 14# Fireline this year, and both times the line was in their teeth. It is some tough stuff. I think your fish had to be cut some other way.

i havent acctually had it happen but i believe him that it did ive caught many fish that got wrapped in the line and since fireline is so thin if it was wrapped up and tried to swim awayor made a run and u pulled back hard i bet it could happen.
