E-collar. 4 functions but only 3 can be used. What to use?

I've got a sport dog 1825. It has tone, nick, stimulus, and vibrate but as far as I can tell I can only use 3 of those 4 when setting up the transmitter. My question is what 3 to use and why?

Thanks in advance.

Have my hounds used to tone but vibrate would do the same job. Have used the tone at least twice to quickly find a lost collar in the cats. Anybody chasing late season rooties and relying on on voice or even whistle commands is stacking the deck against themselves.

My vote, nick, vibrate, then stimulus,

I watched Chad Hines successfully use vibrate in place of stimulus on one of my dogs. He used it as an alternative to stimulus in a low pressure situation and it worked great.

That said, in a high pressure situation where my dog is bounding through tall grass towards a barbed wire fence, I want the option of higher stimulation when the dog does not respond to low pressure.

And for those about to jump all over this post over my advocating smoking the earwax out of my dogs, I don't. I rarely get my sportdog over level 3.

I've tried up to level 6 on myself. I think everyone should try it on themselves before trying it on their dogs. It's good perspective.
