fleurocarbon leaders

Have never used any of the fleuro. type leaders for lindy rigging and have heard good and bad reports. What is your favorite leader line for rigging. Lb. test/color/fleuro or not?
Any replies would be great.

I use floro leaders about 99% of the time. 6lb test primarily.
I switch to 8lb when I suspect larger walleyes or lots of pike in between. Just my experience.

I like Seagar for the brand. That's good stuff, but expensive.

Flourocarbon line sinks therefore when using a plain rig and going slowly your bait ends up on the bottom, not swimming around a little ways above the bottom.

I usually want my bait a little ways off the bottom when rigging therefore I use mono.

I have had that same problem with my leader always dragging on the bottom when using florocarbon. I have started adding a float to the snell but when you really want to go suttle (plain hook and leech or minnow) I have always gone back to mono to keep from snagging up.

I love using Vanish 2lb test for ice fishing but I tried using Vanish 6lb test on one of my open water reels and I'm not a fan. It can't take a beating. First day out and it is frayed and beat up. I'll stick to ice fishing with this line.

I like it for live bait rigging or ice fishing. I used to use it for spinner rigs but quit because it seemed to break easier on bigger fish and I didnt want to use heavier line. Now I use clear 10# XT.
Ad a flaoting bead if its dragging bottom on ya.
