Humminbird 788ci w/Lakemaster chip

I've got a couple year old HB 788ci and picked up a new lakemaster chip this year. When I had the boat out last week, the chart mode couldn't refresh fast enough to keep up with the speed of the boat (30 mph). For the most part it would create an inch or so of white space and then refresh and repeat, occasionally driving into the white space before it would update. I turned off the depth shading and it still continued.

Luckily I have my navionics chip to run on the console but I'm wondering if other people have experienced this and if there is anything that can be done to speed up the refresh rate.

I think 20' on my 798 when I first tested it. Seems to blur more then my navionics at large scales (zoomed in) but I always heard Lakemaster is more accurate from friends so I thought it would be nice to have.

I had the boat out this weekend and even after the update the 788 still couldn't keep up with the speed of the boat, only 35mph. It was a bit faster, but at times you'd nearly drive into white space.

Good thing I got the Navionics chip for my console. I'm gonna contact Hummingbird on this but the version 5.4 didn't fix the problem.
