Mr.Pike. Seeing you are from Darwin you should head to the opening in the channel between Stella and Washington. Once the weeds start growing in thick throw a popper over them and you should catch quite a few. They are usually on the smaller side, but action none the less. Or you could just try fishing for walleyes, can't seem to keep the bass off the line while fishing for walleyes, no matter what lake I am on.
