Hory
I am looking to swap out my current battery in a 14 foot lund. I fish a really shallow river, and would like to keep weight at a bare minimum. I run a small eagle graph, and am wondering what my options are for powering it. I currently run a 27 group battery, which to me seems to be massive over-kill and is rather heavy. What is the smallest source I could use to power the graph for a few hours at a time while out on the river? I have heard that a vexilar-sized battery may be an option? Thanks for the help! BobT
If all you need to power is the graph I wonder if one of those batteries like the one from my Vex would be sufficient? Only about 3"w x 5"d x 5"h and maybe weighs about 5#. It'll drive my Vex for days.
FBMH
A vexilar battery works fine. I run just a basic 180series humminbird and it'll go for 2 days. Just make sure you charge the battery after each time out and be sure to secure or wrap it up in the boat so it doesn't get tossed around. delcecchi
Or I see that fleet farm was featuring lawn mower utility batteries in the ad yesterday. Quite reasonable price.
