You guys who do this for a living I'm hopeing someone can help me out. I'm in need of a new trim switch for 1991 merc controls, the little red button on the shifter. Mine dont work and would like to replace it and local shop claims it's not a part avalible. Anyone have an old set of controls laying out back let me know, getting old with the jerry rigged toggle switch.

I had to have mine replaced last fall! I ended up calling a dealer(that handles the same motor brand) They needed numbers off both sides of the motor mount so they could order me a new one. Took a couple of weeks, but they got it in and i had them replace it.

Good to hear, Esox. I love good service and stories proving it's still out there. It's harder and harder to find, it seems....my new boat came from and is serviced from a dealer/service center nearly 2 hours away from me. Hassle, and bit more gas money, but it's worth it when "service" is what they primarily sell, rather than boats and motors.
