Just read on the In-fisherman facebook site that the Catfish Insider will be coming out in June this year due to a delay in taping a segment with Rob Neuman i believe it said....I wonder if any locals will be in it this year????

Yeah I totally agree. For a once a year publication they could do it up a little better. It takes me longer to read the paper on a weekday.

I have never even read one of them. I just figured the fish havent changed much since I started fishing when I was 5, I know what works in my area, and laugh at others when I see them fishing other ways. Maybe their way works better? I dont know, but I think I know what I am doing, and I can read the water pretty good. I dont need to read a magazine with a bunch of advertising on it, and how some people caught fish down in Missouri.

I see the info in here as 100x more valuable then what you would read from one of those magazines. Sometimes you have to read between the lines in what is posted, or just watch when the pictures are posted. Was it daylight, what bait, etc. I fish the way I normally would, then mix in the tips I found on here, when I cant seem to find the fish.

Say if my mid summer bait is bullhead, and I am not doing well, and I havent caught a fish in a few trips. Then I see Darren posting a bunch of pictures, and see creek chubs on a hook in the picture, or hanging from its mouth. That doesnt mean I will not bring bullheads on my next trip, but I may bring a dozen creek chubs along next time, and try that. Or I see the pictures of fish from daytime, and I have only been fishing late nights, I may hit the water at 5:30 instead of waiting until 9 to go out.

I dont waste my time or money reading the insider magazines, and for what I hear, it is just advertising, and repeats of previous years stuff rehashed.
