huskie0302
Anywhere in the west metro where I can buy some panfish leeches in bulk? I can't find any place that sells the panfish size in bulk. Thanks

huskie0302
Got it, but for some reason on the lake that we have a cabin on, the live leeches out fist gulp 6-1. We tried it last spring for crappies and sunnies.

Scott M
Why not order them directly? Mark Jewell at Jewell Outdoors will hook you up with whatever size you need. This is a family run business that's been doing it for almost 30 years. They have a great product at an even better price. motley man
Take a couple 3# coffee cans, poke a hole on each side of top rim, tie 10' of good strong string on one side and run through other side. Put liver or fish head in can, put a big wad of grass inside and squeeze together. Find a pond that does not have fish and put it in on it's side, check next day to see if there are leeches in it. If no leeches try a different pond. Cheap way to get leeches of all sizes and the kids love to go along. Be careful, some ponds are really deep and soft bottomed. I toss can out from shore and pull it over to sink it, tie string to shore. Wood ticks love tall grass around ponds, so put the spray on. Jim Uran
Good info Motley Man, when does one need a license to transport bait that is caught in this fashion? Is there a certain limit on how much you can transport before you need a license?

suncruiser234
I get mine at Vados Bait. I was just in there today and Greg said it will be another week or so before leeches come in. It has just been to cold and windy for good leech trapping.

harvey lee
I would agree with Scott that Jewell Outdoors has what one needs when it comes to bait. With the price of gas, one cannot drive around to far looking for ponds with leeches when they can be shipped to your door.
