Sports show vs. fishing

The last few years i have been able to talk myself out of going to the sports show and instead of talking about fishing all day and spending money on things i already have - i have gone fishing - this year only one baby one but i learned where to go for next time.

**** legality disclaimer - to save you the speach of "bass season isn't open yet" i was on boarder waters where bass season never closes - however it is about 3 weeks behind where it was last year but that was to be expected with the high water

let me know how the river conditions are. I'm going to get my boat out of storage next weekend and start getting it ready. Is there a good largemouth population in that area?

There is a few, just have to know where to look and where not to drive a boat.

Will be in a River Pro which will probably come in handy.

As far as Ramps, will be using a private ramp on the WI side according to the guy I am going with so it should not be an issue.

I was on boarder waters - the river however is unbelievably high - and still rising - not looking good - debris isn't too bad - all the big floaters are pinned somewhere right now but as the water goes up it might even get worse - There is quite a bit of trash in the water the last time was down - and even some treasures if you are a junk collector - i would be careful out there if you are going to head out - somethings out of your control can put you out of commission quickely - so i would start by going upstream of where you launch so that way you can at least drift back to your launch - Scariest moment the last time i was down was drifing over what i thought was a dead carp but as i got closer realized it was a dock buoy and as we drifted the big motor hooked it and and 30 feet of dock heaved out of the water - if i would have hit that under power i wouldve been hurt and wrecked boat - be safe out there and smart. I hope to head back down this weeek and i will give a report.

i don't know where to get an official ramp report but i do know that last i heard ikes park in wabasha was closed but some others are doable if you don't mind launching in the parking lot - If someone knows if of a place where they keep an update of public access post it up if it is within the rules to do so.
